Located in Wiltshire, in the Southwest of England, Salisbury is one the county’s most historically important cities and continues to attract tourists in great numbers. The nearby World Heritage Site of Stonehenge is one of Britain’s most popular attractions and this, along with the famous Salisbury cathedral and charming medieval town centre, explains why it was voted one of Britain’s top ten tourist destinations.

Stonehenge is certainly the chief attraction in Wiltshire and within 30 minute drive of the city. This prehistoric monument is built of massive stone blocks and has a mysterious past, its purpose is thought to be either an altar for a sun-worshiping culture or an ancient astrological calendar.
