The town of Westhoughton is located about 5 miles south west of Bolton and is within easy reach of the motorway and railway network, For the last 25 years Westhoughton has been growing in size with the construction of more and more housing estates and now has a population of over 27,000 people. Market Street is the main street running through Westhoughton town centre which now has traffic calming and of course double yellow lines everywhere, parking is available a short walk away with retail shopping outlets, a Co-Op, Gee Tee's discount store, a Pizza takeaway and an excellent Chinese restaurant.

The town centre bypass road called Cricketers Way leads up Park Road towards Chequerbent and the M61 or down Wigan Road heading towards Hindley and Wigan.
